Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang
Airport pick up and transfer to your hotel and visiting night market
Day 2: Luangprabang – Oudomxai – Nam kat Yolapa
Today we will travel from Luang Prabang to Nam Khat Yorlapa Protected Area by the Laos-China high-speed train, which will take us only 1 hour to get to Muangxay station. Upon arrival, do a short tour by visiting the Phu Thad stupa overview and enjoy the Oudomxay town view. Lunchtime at a local restaurant, then the trip continues onward to the Nam Kat Yolapa Waterfall and Resort. While staying at this place, you can learn more about Khmu ethnic group cultures and enjoy being close to nature. Overnight in Jungle Resort.
Day 3: Nam Kat–Oudomxay–Nam Ly (Homestay)
The trip departs from Nam Kat Yolapa Waterfall and Resort and drives through Oudomxay town onward to the northeast. Visit the "Pha Chao Singkham temple." This statue is considered sacred and is a significant cultural attraction in the region. The temple itself is a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists, and the statue is believed to be over 400 years old and possess supernatural powers. Lunch at Pak Namnoi, where many Akha people also come to buy and sell their agricultural crops. We then continue the trip on the road to Phongsaly province, about 35 km to Namly village for our homestay. You experience some of the Khmu and Akha minority villages. we take time to drive visit the minorities overnight at Nam Ly village (at people's house or at the local guesthouse, which is very basic)
Day 4: Nam Ly – Akha Tribe villages
Enjoy your breakfast. Today We will make a short trek around the NamLy village area, an Akha ethnic minority, and then we will continue driving through the unexplored area of the stunning landscape and reach the Loma tribe village. Lunch at a local village, then continue our journey to Muangkhua. Overnight at Muangkua
Day 5: Muangkhua – Muang Ngoi Neua
After breakfast, the trip will start around 9:00 am. We will take a slow boat on Nam Ou River to Muang Ngoi and make some stops to visit local handicrafts at Ban. Sopchem is weaving some scarves. The village itself is very interesting. After that, we continue to lunch at the place where we are going to stay with a beautiful view. After lunch, we walk 4 km to Tham Kang Cave to explore the history of the place where people used to stay in this cave during the Vietnam War, then back to the hotel for overnight. Stay in Bangalow
Day 7: Muang Ngoi – Nongkhiew – Luangprabang
Take a boat down to the Nongkhiaw end of our boat. Journey: discovery of a small city but very pretty with mountains surrounding it. We get into the minivan and drive to Luang Prabang, visit some local villages along the way, see a lot of orange farms, and drive following the Nam Ou River. Cross the Mekong River by motorboat to visit the amazing 3000 Buddha images inside the cave. After that, continue to Whiskey Village and then back to Prabang.
Day 8: Half-day City tour and transfer
Enjoy your last day in the world heritage city before heading to another destination by visiting the Morning Market to see the local production and handicrafts; we then visit the National Museum and Wat Xieng Thong, then head outside the town to see and swim at Kuangsi Waterfall. Return to town and transfer to your next destination.
