Day 1: Vientiane Sightseeing
Airport pick up and start exploring Vientiane, the capital of Laos. begins with a visit to Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple still standing in the town. This amazing structure features remarkable frescoes and Buddha statues. We also visit the imposing Patouxai Monument - well known as Vientiane s own Arc de Triomphe before we continue on to the great sacred structure and symbol of Laos - That Luang Stupa.
Heading out of town we see the Buddha Park, a blend of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures created by a mystical monk on parkland on the banks of the Mekong River and close to the impressive Friendship Bridge linking Laos and Thailand. A perfect way to round off the day is to watch the spectacular sunset over the Mekong River from one of the riverside bars. Overnight in Vientiane
Day 2: Vientiane → Thakhek
336 km, ~5‑6 hours by car
Depart Vientiane early. Stop along the way in smaller towns. Overnight in Thakhek. Evening: Explore Thakhek, perhaps markets, dinner, and rest.
Day 3: Thakhek → Xepon
Long travel day: likely 6‑8 hours or more (road conditions can slow you)
Depart early. On approach to Xepon, you enter more rugged terrain. visit villages and old war relics. Overnight in Xepon.
Day 4: Xepon → Dak Cheung
Travel through jungle/hilly areas. It could be 6‑8 hours or more, depending on the condition.
In Dak Cheung, visiting villages and coffee plantation. Relax and enjoy the forest and nature. Overnight in Dak Cheung.
Day 5: Dak Cheung → Attapeu
Travel toward Attapeu, through rural areas. ~5‑7 hours, depending on stops and visiting.
Arrive in Attapeu in the afternoon. Visit Attapeu Town, the local market, the Provincial Museum, and the Stupa Wat Pha Saysettha. Overnight in Attapeu.
Day6: Attapeu—Explore local natural sites

Full day exploring waterfalls and lakes: Tad Saepha, Tad Samongphak, maybe Tad Phaphong, Nong Fa Lake if feasible, Lao‑Vietnam Friendship Memorial, and local minority villages. Overnight in Attapeu.
Day 7: Attapeu - Pakse
After your breakfast, head into the Bolaven Plateau: waterfalls (Tad Lo, Tad Fane etc.), coffee plantations, and ethnic villages. Bolaven Plateau exploration

In Pakse, rest or explore. Overnight in Pakse.
Day 8: Pakse - Wat Phu
Wat Phou (or Vat Phu) is a ruined Khmer Hindu temple complex in southern Laos. It is at the base of mount Phou Khao, some 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the Mekong in
There was a temple on the site as early as the 5th century, but the surviving structures date from the 11th to 13th centuries. It has a unique structure: the elements lead to a shrine where a lingam dedicated to Lord Shiva was bathed in water from a mountain spring. The site later became a center of Theravada Buddhist worship, which it remains today. Use this last afternoon to relax and explore Pakse town, local temples, the riverfront, and markets.
Day 9: Pakse—Flight back to Vientiane or other destination

Vientiane → Thakhek ≈ 336 km, ~5‑6 hours by car depending on stops & road condition.
Pakse to Bolaven Plateau is pretty close: about 37 km, taking ~45 minutes by car.
Other legs (Thakhek → Xepon → Dak Cheung → Attapeu → Pakse) are more rugged; travel times will depend heavily on road quality, season, and vehicle.
